Our Facility

Big Cats of Serenity Springs is dedicated to providing a safe, stable, and permanent environment for non-domestic cats.

Here at Big Cats of Serenity Springs, our animals have constant companionship, attention and the very best care we can provide. We are licensed by State (Colorado Division of Wildlife) and Federal agencies (USDA APHIS) which ensure we continue to maintain a high level of care.

Indeed, we are licensed exactly the same as every traditional zoo in the country, a fact many people are unaware of.
It is with great joy that we provide care, love, and compassion to lions, tigers, lynx, bobcats, cougars, ligers and other “exotic” cats that for one reason or another have been in a situation causing their lives or well-being to be jeopardized.

There are very few facilities dedicated solely to providing a permanent sanctuary for displaced Big Cats. One reason is that the cost are staggering. Operational costs are now over $12,000 a month. And that’s when nothing goes wrong!

We are often asked: How do we get our Big Cats?

The answer is as varied as the personalities of the animals themselves.

Currently, more than 60 Big Cats call Serenity Springs their home. Each has a name, a face and a personality. And, we have a waiting list for more cats needing a home at Serenity Springs. We take those we have room for, getting them here however we can. We ache for those we turn away. For every cat we are able to take in, we must turn away at least 10 due to lack of funding and transport costs.

We receive NO government funding to care for the animals. Your tax-deductible contribution is needed to continue our mission. Won’t YOU help the Big Cats?
