Please be sure you arrive promptly, as we cannot accomodate late-comers once the gates are closed.
Large group tours are available at other times by appointment. Please email us if you have a special request. As email is answered by our dedicated staff of volunteers, please allow a couple days for a response.
Dress comfortable, especially sturdy shoes, as tours take a little over an hour, and there is not much protection from the weather out on the plains. Sunscreen is highly recommended.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Weather in this part of the state can be very unpredictable. If inclement weather is predicted for the Colorado Springs the day you are scheduled to visit, it is very likely the tour may be postoned. Also please keep in mind, even if the sun is out in town, there can still be a blizzard or tornado raging out east!
Here are the basic rules and information:
>>Tour cost is $10 per person (children under 2 are free).
>> It is very important that you do not enter the compound (the rolling gate) until you are with a guide, even if the gate is open due to work projects going on. Parking is on the grass anywhere between the main entrance gate and the rolling gate.
>>Children 2 or under will need to be carried. Strollers are not permitted inside the facility.
>>Still photo cameras only - flash is ok. Absolutely no video allowed at any time.
>> This is a walking tour that lasts for a little over one hour so dress comfortably, especially shoes. Due to the mulch spread in the entire compound in preparation for winter, it is not possible for us to accomodate wheelchairs or walkers at this time.
>> We are a home for the animals - not an 'attraction'. Therefore we work around what is best for the cats. There are times we do not allow any visitors if we believe the cats need time off.
We look forward to seeing you!
